A dual push button switch is located on the top of the head torch for easy operation. Turn the white LED on by holding the right switch for 0.5 seconds and then each press after that will cycle through the modes. The last used white output will be remembered the next time the light is turned on. Turn the red LED on by holding the left switch for 0.5 seconds and then each press after that will cycle through the modes. While the torch is on, press either button to switch to the other mode and press and hold either button while the torch is on to turn off.
The HL16 has a lock function to prevent accidental turn-on. To access lock mode press and hold either or both of the buttons for three seconds while the torch is off. The torch will blink red four times to indicate locked mode. To unlock simultaneously hold both buttons for three seconds, the torch will blink red four times and then turn on in the red mode.
Apart from being lightweight, the HL16 has a number of other features that make it great for outdoor activities. The headband is perforated and adjustable for comfort and on the outer part of the headband there are reflective strips, which are excellent for enhanced visibility and safety.
The direction of the light can be altered with the hinged bracket that allows the torch to tilt forward at a 60° angle and when the light is in the upright position a plastic lip sits over the button to prevent accidental activation of the light.
Built-in overheat protection will automatically reduce the lumen output slightly if the temperature reaches 65°C in order to protect the torch and LEDs, once the torch begins to cool the output will gradually increase.

Please Note:Â *Only stays in turbo mode for 30 seconds before dropping down due to overheat protection, therefore a constant run-time is not available. The high can be accessed again after it drops down, but if the HL16 becomes overheated it will stay in the lower output until the torch cools.
