The mini spring booms consist of a crystal bead attached to a small spring tube. So, it ensures good hold at the leader that is far from the mainline body (principle of the Boom); while retaining maximum mobility during assembly (the spring moves then comes back in place, evolving naturally according to constraints).
The pearl can optionally be left sliding or blocked between two stop knots or two crimps type stops.
